Maharishi Valmiki Wallpaper

Navratri 2010 Photo

Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit means nine and Ratri Nava meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti / Devi is worshipped.The early spring and early autumn are two very important junctions of climatic and solar influence. Durga Puja Photo Gallery

Durga Puja, also known Durgotsab is an annual Hindu festival in South Asia that celebrates worship of Hindu goddess Durga. It refers to all the six days observed Mahalaya, Shashthi, Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami, Maha Nabami and Bijoy Dashami. The dates for Durga Puja celebrations are set according to traditional Hindu calendar and two weeks, which corresponds to the festival is called Debi Pokkho.

Lalbaug Ganesh 2010

In Mandal, formerly known as' Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Lalbaug was "founded in the year 1928 because of a promise Navas for the construction of the current Lalbaug market at the existing premises. Torget Peru Chawla was shut down in 1932. Therefore sworn fishermen and vendors who used to sit in an open place to Lord Ganesh for permanent place for their market. With a consistent effort and support of the then local Councillor-Late Shri.

Since that day onwards, this Lord Ganesh has become popular because it satisfies the wishes of believers. The Mandal was formed in an age where freedom struggle was at its peak.
During 1948-1968, Mandal started some new traditions like "Shri Satyanarayana Mahapooja", "Pan-supari Samarambha Get Together Function". Get Together Function is the ceremony of felicitation by offering roll betel leaf with betel nuts, known as Pan-Supari in Marathi.
